FerryMead

   Ferrymead Heritage park

By Adelaide
If you want to know about life in Christchurch in 1850’s the best place to go is ferrymead Heritage park.On Wednesday 86 kids from Kahikatea visited ferrymead Heritage park.
                  Schools in the 1850’s
In the 1850’s the children that went to school rode horses to school. The playground at the schools aren't really playgrounds because there is only
a paddock for the horses and a grass bit because  the children had to use their imagination. BORING!. It only had the New Zealand flag.
Also the school was soooo tiny. They only had little desks in the school and a whiteboard and an ink jar.

If you were a teacher you couldn’t get married. If you did get married you would have to quit!!!
The girls that went to school had to wear a white little madan dress and a white tiny bonnet. The boys had to wear a grey top with buttons and grey pants which were grey to.

Looking at all of these Information about the 1850’s you can see that the schools and other stuff in 1850’s
are very different to now in 2017.
